Friday 25 May
The College Choir's new CD, 'IN PARADISUM: Songs of Remembrance and Hope' was released on 25 May. Some of the music on the disc commemorates the anniversary of the Great War, including a setting of Laurence Binyon's poem 'For the Fallen', alongside movements from requiems by Fauré and Duruflé and Schubert's ethereal setting of Psalm 23. Reflective and inspiring hymns such as 'Amazing Grace' and 'Dear Lord and Father of mankind' sit beautifully alongside anthems that have personal memories for the College community, including a piece by Dominic Hawley, Director of Music at CLC, and 'God be with you', which is sung each year at Leavers' Prayers. Copies of the CD are priced at £10 each (+£1.70 p&p).
